Damone Documentary

4 06 2007

Damone just released their new documentary on YouTube and MySpace, chronicling the band’s struggle and unorthodox recording process of their last album Out Here All Night.

“It was really intense going back and looking through all those old tapes and remembering what a crazy time that was. I hope this gives everyone some insight as to what our lives were like back then, and how crazy it is to do a record in a bedroom,” says lead singer Noelle

For part II, head on over to YouTube. And don’t look for Damone to pop up in a club near you any time soon, as they will be writing and recording their album for the rest of the year.

Rock N’ Roll Mamas

17 05 2007

Here’s a sneak peek of Rock N Roll Mamas, an upcoming feature length documentary exploring the joys and challenges “Rock Moms” face on and off the road. Ya gotta love YouTube.

My goal here is to explore and reveal the many facets of these women — who they are as people, artists, and mothers. My hope is that the film will bring mothers together in the solidarity that we are all indeed rock star moms just by trying to remain true to ourselves while parenting our children!”-Jackie Weissman, (Director)

What We’re Watching: The Sarah Silverman Program

2 03 2007

THURSDAYS ON COMEDY CENTRAL, 10:30/9:30c

In a sitcom world saturated with way too many male comics and cheesy punch lines, Sarah Silverman is a breath of foul-mouthed air. The show follows a fictional Silverman through a “typical” day in her life. Typical defined as: 1. entering a random foster kid in a children’s beauty pageant Silverman desperately wants to enter, but is obviously too old for, 2. battling the queefing ghost of her homeless friend’s mother. But when you strip away all the fart jokes and narcissism, you’re left with warm, fuzzy banter between Silverman, her dorky gay neighbors, a police officer, and her sister (played by real life sister Laura Silverman), sitting around a coffee table, talking about nothing. Not in a Seinfeld way, but in a Silverman way.
